Barrie, renowned author of "Peter and Wendy" and "Peter in Kensington Garden", stories which never grow old in the hearts of readers. This edition of "Quality Street" was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1901. 1st Edition thus. The book, a hardcover, is illustrated with black-and-white line drawings by the great artist, Hugh Thomson. The play centers upon two sisters, both still single, who start a school for "genteel children". As we all know, there is no such thing as "genteel children". This makes for much mischief and amusement. Other amusement is afforded by the suitors of the two sisters. The play was a great hit on the London stage, when it was first produced in 1902.
